Here are some folks we know that provide products, services and other cool stuff - in the
San Francisco bay area and beyond. They're listed here because we feel they bring an intrinsic
value to our local community in various ways.
• Backroads Boogie
- You may know Craig Hightower from The Wall, the AFM racing scene in 80's/90's or other venues, as he's
a well traveled guy. Craig's website is about his many adventures and travels motorcycling, kayaking,
bicycling and other interests. His articles and photos will make you wanna pack your bags and go!
• Berkeley Performance Motorcycle
- Service, repair and dyno tuning for motorcycles. In Berkeley of course, no website as of yet,
but here's the number 510-525-6797. This is Richard Gibbon's place, he's a cool cat from the
way back and is offering an independent alternative for service and repair. He's also good guy
to know when you're in a jam stuck on the side of road, because he owns Cycle Tow as well.
• BRG Racing
- Dyno tuning for motorcycles, quads, cars and trucks, engine development and racing parts. Located
in Pacheco. Owner K.C. Gager and crew are tuning for speed, they have "a sickness for quickness"
and a really big dyno to tune both 2 and 4 wheel rides with.
• Cycle Tow
- 24 Hr. motorcycle towing and crash recovery in the greater bay area. No website as of yet, but
here's the number 510-644-2453. If you ride the bay area, this number can come in real handy.
• Full Throttle Motorsports
- Youth motocross, super moto, flat track and cross country racing outfitter. Retired road racer, Eddie Lee is now
a leading supplier of Cobra and Lem youth motorcycles, ATVs and service to feed the need for speed to your kids.
If you've passed the racing gene onto the little ones and need to gear up, give him a shout.
• Gary Rather Photography
- Gary Rather has been shooting motorcycle racing in Northern California since 1995 and has fairly large collection of images
(Over 30,000) available for viewing. So if you have been racing with the AFM or the AMA in California anytime in the last
few years he probably has some photos of you. A special thanks to Gary for allowing us to use his racing photos on our site.
• GP Frame & Wheel
- Motorcycle & ATV frame, wheel and component straightening, computerized measuring, custom fabrication.
Over the years I've sampled the competition's work and well... lets just say Gerry Piazza get's all my frame and
wheel work since the very first job.
• Jen's Werkstatt Tech and Sundry
- "Motorcycle tech observations. Life in a motorcycle repair and race shop." This is Jennifer Bromme's blog where
she shares her experiences, tips & tricks of the trade and various stories - it's both informative and entertaining. As if, running a motorcycle shop and wrenching wasn't
enough of a full-time endeavor. This is what I call dedication to the sport and community... Kudos to Jen!
• Mike's Custom Auto Upholstery - In Novato, no website, but here's the
number 415-883-5508. Mike is the man, he's been providing top-notch custom auto upholstery work for a
long as I can remember (that's a long time) and he'll do custom motorcycle seats upon request. So if you've
got a hot rod or bike that needs a special touch look him up, he's a true craftsman.
• Werkstatt Racing & Repair
- "German Precision for Your Japanese Motorcycle." A full service shop for Japanese and BMW motorcycles.
Parts, service, repair, race prep and dyno tuning in San Francisco. What can I say about these hardcore motorcycle
riding, racing, wrench-spinning follks?... Jennifer (owner/mechanic) and Marie (manager) both rock! They do a lot to
support the general motorcycle and racing communities so keep Werkstatt in mind if you're in and around the city
looking for parts or service for your bike.
